Daniel's Testimony As a son of a pastor, I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and hearing the gospel literally from before I was even born. Around the age of eight, I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, within the next few months, my Dad baptized me at First Baptist Church in Dunkirk, NY. Growing up, I also had the opportunity to attend Christian schools and learn more about God's Word. Upon graduation, I attended Tennessee Temple University (TTU) and began majors in Deaf Studies and Sign Language Interpreting, while also working in the Deaf Sunday School, among other ministries. During this time, my wife and I also married. In 2004, I graduated from TTU and began working as an interpreter in the local community. Around the same time, my wife and I decided to begin attending Harvest Baptist Church of the Deaf, where we began working in Sunday School and leading music. Recently, I designed the Harvest website and began working in the video ministry. Last year, I had a wonderful opportunity to attend a missions trip to the Dominican Republic, where we saw 139 people make decisions for salvation. God has spoken to my heart about working in short term missions trips. I look forward to serving this summer in Ukraine. | Bonita's Testimony I grew up knowing about God and the Bible, but did not make a personal decision for Christ until I was seventeen years old. At this time my life changed completely. I joined a youth group and attended church regualarly. I attended public schools through out my education but decided to go to a Christian college upon graduation. My husband (we were not married at the time) and I decided together to go to Tennessee Temple University. I received my Asociates of Arts in Deaf Studies. During my time at college I was baptized at Highland Park Baptist church. After completing my degree we became married, and I worked while Daniel finished his Bachelor's degree. Upon graduation, Daniel and I started attending and joined Harvest Baptist Church of the Deaf. Throughout our time at Harvest, I have been involved in many areas of ministry, including teaching Sunday School and working in the church nursery. I am a stay at home mother to three precious little girls. Recently both mine and Daniel's hearts have been touched to join our church in going on a missions trip to Ukraine. I have never been on a missions trip before and look forward to this opportuntiy to reach others for Christ. |
